Three Leaf Sumac or Rhus trilobata, is a Utah native shrub. sometimes called skunk bush for the fragrant smell it gives off when branches are cut (it doesn’t really smell like skunk, but does get old after hours of pruning). Depicted are branches as they may appear in winter, with berry clusters, dried leaves clinging on, and catkins with next seasons flowers dormant inside.
