Gambel Oak Leaf and Acorn

Quercus gambelii

My favorite thing about this oak is the autumn color. It’s beautiful up close and from far away. The mountains in Utah in the autumn is truly my favorite time and place.

These aren’t just beautiful. Also known as Scrub Oak, this Utah native tree grows in the foothills and bottoms of canyons. It is an important plant for many animals, as it provides acorns for food, and dense hedges for shelter
