Dragonfly: Blue Eyed Darner

This dragonfly is common to the western United States. It can be found near slow moving bodies of water. I found this particular dragonfly in the middle of my street in autumn. I carefully scooped it up to save it from being squished and brought it home to paint it.
There is iridescent paint on the wings causing it to shimmer in the light.
