Summer Art Classes Recap
I ran two art classes this summer. One was a printmaking class for elementary school aged kids, the other was a beginner botanical art class for teens. I am so proud of all the kids who came and worked hard to learn new skills and create beautiful art.
In the printmaking class we carved blocks for relief printing, and learned how to mono print on gelli plates. By far the favorite task was carving into the soft pink blocks. A close second was imagining up stories to go along with the images they created.
The Youth Botanical Art class learned how to look closely at a plant and draw what they saw. They learned how to mix colors, draw with pen and ink, and even gained plant knowledge along the way.
I am definitely going to be teaching art classes for kids and teens again.
