Woods Rose

Rosa woodsii

Watercolor on paper, 8x10”

This rose is a Utah native wildflower. It grows throughout the mountains, plateaus, and prairies of central and western North America.

Native peoples used the petals and young leaves as food, or smoked the inner bark. European immigrants used the hips for food or flavoring.
