Plant parts in graphite

For Jr High and High School ages

Course includes 6 classes. Each class is 2 hours. Materials will be provided for in class use.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays at 1:00 in my studio. If a class is missed, a shortened makeup time can be arranged prior to the next class. The Goal of this class is to give students an introduction to botanical art using drawing in graphite, and line and wash techniques.

Cost is $200 per child.

Day 1: June 26

Bring some of your own drawings to share, Introduction to Botanical Art, Overview of tools and techniques

Day 2: July 3

Using graphite and shading, understanding and drawing leaves

Day 3: July 10

Pen and Ink, Transferring images, Stems, Buds, and Seeds

Day 4: July 17

Bring your favorite fruit or veggie, Mixing watercolors

Day 5: July 31

Flowers, Composition, storing plants for later use

Day 6:August 7

Personal Project (Students will select their own botanical inspiration from home or from an assortment of plant materials I provide)

Art Show August 16, 6:30-8 pm

Students work will be on display for friends and family to view in my studio.
