Silverpoint

In an effort to expand my offerings of original art, I am teaching myself metalpoint, specifically silver. I will expand to other metals if I decide I love it, which so far, I do.

I began by preparing wood boards that my husband generously donated from his vast wood collection. He cut them all to size. I sanded them and gessoed them three times. I then coated them with tinted metal point grounds.

I have started a series of eight spices in silverpoint. Included are Onion, Garlic, Ginger, Black Cardamom, Star Anise, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, and Chipotles.

I will be on the lookout for suitable frames for these small Silverpoint pieces. Crossing my fingers I find something good.
